Counterculture

A piece of wall has appeared on the Market Square recently. And it's not a part of the ceremony of the fall of Berlin Wall. As it seems this year in Wroclaw (maybe in the whole Poland, don't know) is the Year of Counterculture. A wall is a part of the exibition of the street artists' works, mostly of the "3-fala" group(The Third Wave).
The Third Wave is still very active group of the street artists across the country and you can watch their works on the walls across the whole city. If you like it ;)))

The Cathedral in the fog

We had another foggy day here. Maybe was a bit grey and sad but some views were really great. Especially in the early morning. But even about noon you could still see a fog hanging over the city. Like here on the Ostrow Tumski.
On the photo: Tumski Bridge (yes, today the name is right ;)) and Cathedral covered by the fog.

Foggy evening

Foggy evening on Szczytnicki Bridge.
P.S. Photo is a bit blured, but was pretty cold, so forgive us this ;)))
CORRECTION.
I made mistake. Of course this is Grunwaldzki Bridge not Szczytnicki Bridge as I wrote. (thanks to anonymous reader for your's comment). I've caught a cold so I've been absent-minded recently, so forgive all mistakes. ;)))

Colours

I've cought a cold so I'm grounded. Searching for an old photos I've found this one. That's funny, because normally the colours should be like here. It had to be something with my camera for this short moment, but I got this photo with unique colours.

Day in Black and White

It was very strange day. As we woke up we saw snow outside, later on it rained and the end of the day was terribly cold.
The best place for today was home with strong, lovely cup of coffee, chocolate and great movie.

5-0-1

Wroclaw has been going to sleep.
Yes. In last few, lovely, sunny days we could watched a real golden autumn views. But after only two frosty nights plenty of colourful leaves disappeared and the world outside became more grey and gloomy. So there is the last minutes to take a walk to the parks.

BTW. We are here again. There were few reasons we weren't able to be here in last several weeks. We thought few times that we'll be have to close this blog. But hope we overcame a crisis and will be here everyday....or almost everyday. So keep you fingers crossed for us. ;)))

Do U love me? So let's lock our padlock for our lifelong love.

The Tumski Brigde is called a Lovers' Bridge. There is plenty superstitions and customs what to do to be infatuated till rest of your life with "this the one". But a new custom has turned up recently. Lovers are hanging a padlocks with their names, dates, some texts on the bridge. Next they lock it together and then throw a key to the river. As they believe this will allow them to live and love together till rest of their life.
It's not an new idea. There are a few bridges around the world where this custom is cultivated. For example in Paris, Riga and the most popular in a Milvio's Bridge in Rome.

BTW. We have a small anniversary today. We've reached 500th post here. We are glad we are still here. Let's hope we will meet here in the next 500th posts. ;)))

Hotel Monopol. Part Two

In the end of XIX century two men Wallenberg Pachaly and Karl Grossem purchased something what used to be a church cementary, monastery and jail and turned it into department store and hotel which had became one of the most luxiours hotel in Europe.
The building was almost untouched by the WWII warfare.
Today it was restored by a new owner to its past greatness.
